Upgrade airVision-C NVR Appliance to UniFi-Video 3.x

Scenario:
In this article we will explain how to upgrade your existing NVR appliance airVision 2.1.3 to the new UniFi Video Software 3.x while preserving your data. A clean install option (recommended) is also included.

IMPORTANT:
Before proceeding it is highly recommended that you backup your data. Please see the this article for backing up your recordings.

Step 1:
Login to airVision-C NVR and upgrade airVision to the latest version (this should be version 2.1.3).
Step 2:
Login to the airVision-C NVR via SSH and update the OS:
apt-get update; apt-get upgrade
Step 3 - Clean Install (Recommended but will require reconfiguration of your NVR as all settings will be lost - to migrate and attempt to preserve data go straight to step 4):
Purge the old airVision install:
apt-get remove --purge airvision2

Step 4 - Add UniFi-Video to repository and update:
sh -c 'echo "deb [arch=amd64] http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/unifi-video/apt wheezy ubiquiti" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/unifi-video.list'
apt-get update
Step 5 - Install UniFi-Video:
apt-get install unifi-video
Step 6:
Upgrade your camera's to the latest UVC firmware. To do this just go to Settings > Maintenance on each camera and click update.
